The Bistroo Breakdown: Monthly Progress Report — July 2024
Every month, we publish an update to our token holders and broader community. Welcome to the July 2024 edition. This month, sales had its best month since our inception, we launched a new SEO project to improve our SERP rankings across the board and development had many major releases.
General & Sales
This month we yet again improved on our key metrics and unit economics, further validating our current growth and commercial approach for this market.
We expect these improvements to continue, in which even better performance is achieved against current fixed expenses, in a move towards a net positive cash-flow operation. We have commenced with a new fund-raise to be fully suited for the next stages of growth and developments, and achieve the goal of becoming profitable on a monthly basis. Below you will find some key updates from our divisions:
- 6083 first-time users placed an order in July. That is a 202% increase in first-time customers year-on-year compared to July 2023.
- 2384 new user accounts were created in July. A year-on-year increase of 360% in new user accounts signed up.
- We had our best month ever in terms of onboarding, with 44 new merchants live compared to 15 a year earlier, an increase of 193%.
- Additionally, we have scheduled 110 new appointments, nearly double the 56 appointments a year earlier, a growth of 96%.
- We closed 51 deals, compared to 13 deals a year earlier, an increase of 292%
Marketing
- Launched a large SEO project. The aim is to improve our SEO rankings across multiple Bistroo products; BistrooPages, bistroo.nl and BistrooShops.
- Started streamlining a SEO outline and content guide for new (and already existing shops) that our onboarding teams can implement to improve visibility and SERP rankings.
- Launched the new merchant holiday email campaigns, aimed at improving the opening times accuracy during holidays.
- Our Senior Marketeer Bas Geelen was a guest on the Web3 Global Podcast.
- Sent out a direct mailing campaign aimed at a new target region for sales.
- Improvement work on BIST token circularity. This is in preparation for our new Litepaper release.
- Preparations for a banner ad newsletter marketing campaign aimed at merchants in the Netherlands.
Development
- Added daily revenue print for the POS device.
- Implemented confirmation modals for delete actions in the merchant portal.
- Enabled auto reboot functionality for POS devices.
- Released merchant pages v2.
- Introduced multidomain support.
- Developed an invoicing system for international consumers and clients.
- Launched the mobile merchant portal.
- Added a product toggle feature in the menu builder on mobile for active/inactive products.
- Completed code clean up and refactor for the consumer app.
- Implemented a new address search on the establishment page, allowing for full address search instead of zip codes.
- Fixed distribution switching issues.
- Resolved cart option display issues related to delivery thresholds and costs.
- Achieved 100% completion of automated tests for the main flow (marketplace -> establishment -> checkout).
- Added mobile navigation for the merchant portal and POS devices.
- Implemented a multi-receipt print setup for POS devices.
- Enabled multi-establishment setup for POS devices, allowing different establishment orders to be printed on one device.
- Made the refund option password protected.
- Implemented auto updater for Electron with background auto install.
- Fixed drag & drop issues in the menu builder.
- Applied translation fixes in the merchant portal.
- Fixed the permanent close of establishment feature (replacing the 9999 days option).
- Added a new surcharge option for transaction costs in both the consumer app and merchant portal.
- Implemented age check on product level for 18+ products like alcohol instead of shop-level checks.
